For the original Viennese flanell mallets only air-dried
Beech is used. It goes without saying that my wood sticks
are turned by hand.
Specially selected Tonkin is hollowed and a round
baton of Beech wood is glued inside, so that the balance
and warm sound of the mallets are optimised.
Also for the heads I only use high-quality natural
materials like cork,
sheep’s wool felt, cotton-scrim and cotton.
